The Argentinians, porteños, or people from the provinces show a strong preference for beef. We are meat eaters, specially beef from cattle raised in the open field. Grilled on large iron grids or in attractive "ruedos" ( a circular space to grill meat in a spit over a hardwood fire) with the "asador" (spit) stuck by the fire (always a sight), the "Argentine-style" meat is usually accompained by salads and fried potatoes.The most popular cuts are: tira de asado (ribs), colita de cuadril, baby beef, beef steak or loin.
